The registry allows government to capture data around the supply and location of rental accommodations, and "level the playing field" for all short-term accommodations operators. The intention is to share neighbourhood level (not individual level) accommodations data on the open data portal to give citizens an understanding of the type and number of short-term rental accommodations within their communities. Government of Nova Scotia Open Data Portal 2015-12-22 "This digital product is a compilation of geological data which was collected as part of the mapping of the Meguma Terrane of southwestern Nova Scotia by C.E. White. The principal goals of this project are to produce a series of 1:50 000 scale geological bedrock maps of the area, to describe and interpret the sedimentary, igneous, metamorphic and deformational history of the Cambrian to Early Devonian metamorphic rocks, and to evaluate the area’s economic potential. The data was used to create Open File Maps OFM ME 2012-076 to 2012-101, compiled by C. E. White, 2012. The digital product was created by Geoscience and Mines Branch staff. The original digital data was compiled from a number of sources and supplemented by field done during the course of the project. The digital product contains layers for geological features such as: age dates, anticlines/synclines, areas of concentrated drilling, drillholes, dykes, faults, fossils, bedrock geologic units, geological contacts, gold districts, mines, mineral occurrences, small outcrops, quarries, shafts, stockworks, structural data, and shear zones." http://novascotia.ca/opendata/licence.asp

Government of Nova Scotia Open Data Portal 2018-11-15 An executor, administrator, or trustee may, at any time, and must, after five years of receiving assets of an estate or trust, if the heir-at-law or beneficiary cannot be located for the purposes of distribution of the assets of the estate or trust, apply for an order authorizing the transfer of the assets to the Public Trustee. These assets received by the Public Trustee, pursuant to the direction of the court, are converted into cash and paid to the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board. Unclaimed Estate or Trust Funds paid to the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board are then held until the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board is ordered by a court and authorized by the Governor in Council to release the funds to the rightful heir or beneficiary. There are time limitations outlined in the Public Trustee Act for the release of funds. Government of Nova Scotia Open Data Portal 2020-09-17 This category encompasses items of surplus that have been removed from various pieces of furniture and equipment destined for landfills throughout the Province. These pieces are then sent to, or picked up by, various organizations committed to the Province’s continuing program on the diversion of solid waste from Provincial or Municipal landfills. There are other pieces of surplus equipment, such as IT assets, that may be broken, causing removal of sensitive information to be impossible in the traditional manner. In such cases, these items are securely disposed of by the Province’s contracted metal recycler. Other surplus or obsolete electronic items are recycled through the Atlantic Canada’s Electronic Stewardship (ACES) in accordance with the Electronic Product Stewardship Regulations. http://novascotia.ca/opendata/licence.asp

This LiDAR data has not been classified and is a raw data record of all the returns from the LiDAR sensor. The nominal point spacing of the returns is 1 point per metre. Government of Nova Scotia Open Data Portal 2021-06-10 The dataset includes crime statistics at the provincial and police service levels. It is based on police reported incidents of crime reported through the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (UCR). Statistics include the crime severity index, violent crime severity index, and non-violent crime severity index overall for provincial and police service levels. The Youth Crime Severity Index is based on the same principles as the overall Crime Severity Index, which reflects the seriousness of offences, but uses the number of youths accused instead of an incident count. Statistics included are: youth crime severity index, youth violent crime severity index and youth non-violent crime severity index for provincial level data only.
