Government of Alberta | Gouvernement de l'Alberta All available bathymetry and related information for Frog Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.

SBOT Requests; Allan Johnsrude The Stewardship Baseline Objectives Tool (SBOT) is a visualization and assessment tool to clarify and communicate baseline information and stewardship objectives for priority resource values. Currently, the tool is developed for the South Coast Region. The intent of the tool is to assess the current, past and future state of stewardship objectives to support operational, tactical and strategic management decisions for these priority resource values. The Oregon Spotted Frog (OSF) is a cryptic aquatic specialist whose Latin name, Rana pretiosa, translates to “Precious Frog". This frog is found in water year-round, though it will occasionally use riparian habitats. Preferred habitat is shallow marsh wetland but this species also makes its home in ditches, sloughs, and flooded agricultural fields. Oregon Spotted Frogs are critically endangered in Canada as they are found in only 6 watersheds, all in the Lower Fraser Valley. They are also at-risk throughout their U.S. range where they have been extirpated from California, are declining in Oregon, and have been listed as threatened in Washington. Protection and recovery actions are a high priority in B.C. for this species which is threatened by habitat destruction, invasive species, and modifications to hydrology and wetland habitats. Environmental DNA studies have been conducted in potential habitat to detect trace amounts of Oregon Spotted Frog DNA. Positive detections at three locations (Derby Lowlands, Nicomen Slough – Norrish Creek, and Pitt Addington WMA) are also mapped as Recovery Habitat until frog presence can be confirmed by breeding surveys. These Recovery Habitats may be important to the recovery of this species and impacts to these areas should be carefully considered and discussed with species experts. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content?id=1AAACC9C65754E4D89A118B875E0FBDA

Currently, the tool is developed for the South Coast Region. The intent of the tool is to assess the current, past and future state of stewardship objectives to support operational, tactical and strategic management decisions for these priority resource values. There are currently six known breeding populations of Oregon Spotted Frog in Canada. In addition, there are 10 historic populations. Three locations have been identified as “Recovery Habitats” as locations that are potentially suitable for the introduction or translocation of this species. Environmental DNA (eDNA) studies have also found three potential populations, which are under assessment and are currently considered potential Recovery Habitats. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content?id=1AAACC9C65754E4D89A118B875E0FBDA

Government of Canada; Army Survey Establishment 1977-01-01 This is a georeferenced raster image of a printed paper map of the Frog River, Ontario region (Sheet No. 053H15), published in 1977. It is the first edition in a series of maps, which show both natural and man-made features such as relief, spot heights, administrative boundaries, secondary and side roads, railways, trails, wooded areas, waterways including lakes, rivers, streams and rapids, bridges, buildings, mills, power lines, terrain, and land formations. This map was published in 1977. Maps were produced by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and it's preceding agencies, in partnership with other government agencies. Please note: image / survey capture dates can span several years, and some details may have been updated later than others. Please consult individual map sheets for detailed production information, which can be found in the bottom left hand corner. Original maps were digitally scanned by McGill Libraries in partnership with Canadiana.org, and georeferencing for the maps was provided by the University of Toronto Libraries and Eastview Corporation. Carmen Wong Amphibians worldwide are facing declines and possible extinction. Wood frogs (Lithobates sylvaticus) are the only amphibian in Kluane National Park and Reserve. They are considered an important component of wetlands and are highly valued by Southern Tutchone peoples. Threats to wood frogs in Kluane are primarily the loss of habitat due to climate change and infection by diseases such as chytrid fungus. Ponds and wetlands comprise only 0.2% of the park area and have significantly declined in surface area since the 1950s, likely due to increased evaporation from warming temperatures. Parks Canada is monitoring wood frogs in Kluane to understand whether these threats are impacting populations inside the Park. Site visits are used to determine presence/absence of breeding male wood frogs by listening for mating calls. Surveys are conducted at 17 ponds during May every 1-5 years.

Map search instructions

1.Turn on the map filter by clicking the “Limit by map area” toggle.
2.Move the map to display your area of interest. Holding the shift key and clicking to draw a box allows for zooming in on a specific area. Search results change as the map moves.
3.Access a record by clicking on an item in the search results or by clicking on a location pin and the linked record title.
Note: Clusters are intended to provide a visual preview of data location. Because there is a maximum of 1000 records displayed on the map, they may not be a completely accurate reflection of the total number of search results.
